Welcome!
We hope this website provides information to parents, students and community members regarding the Colchester Middle School Music Program.
The music department at CMS strives to encourage a creative community of developing musicians. We are proud to have several performing ensembles in addition to many general music classes. Students may participate in: grade-level Chorus, 6th and 7/8th grade Band, auditioned after school Select Choir, after school Jazz Band, and/or yearly school musical. Our curriculum is comprised of rhythm studies, composition, basic recorder and guitar performance and techniques, music history and beginning music theory.
Please visit the Friends of Colchester Music website for more information about the parent/community involvement in our district music program.
We encourage all parents to stay involved with their students progress in our classes and ensembles via Parent Portal, as well as checking this website for important dates and additional information. Please feel free to email us with any questions, concerns, or celebrations regarding your students and/or our program.
